Lindsay Ripplinger

Creative Storyteller

Hi, I’m Lindsay Ripplinger, a professional writer, editor, and digital publisher based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

I’m a multidisciplinary storyteller and trained archivist with a deep love of history, memory, and place. As a fiction writer, essayist, and poet, I explore how the past shapes our present—particularly through stories rooted in the Canadian West. My historical fiction novel Seven Springs is published under my nom de plume Lindsay Shayne, and I share essays and creative nonfiction on Medium under Lindsay Ripplinger.

My current projects include Frank’s Rise, a novel set in the aftermath of the 1903 Turtle Mountain rockslide, and The Newly Frugal: A Beginner’s Guide to the Frugal Lifestyle (launching 2026), a practical guide that blends wisdom with personal storytelling.

Through Songbird Classic Editions, I curate and edit literary classics that have shaped our shared cultural history. At heart, I’m a researcher, record-keeper, and storyteller—always seeking new ways to honour the past, celebrate the present, and imagine the future with optimism.

In addition to my personal creative writing and publishing projects, I provide creative writing services to global small businesses and collaborate to bring their ideas to life.

Outside of writing, I’m an avid collage artist, painter, and photographer, and cultivate inspiration in the subtle details of ordinary life in Alberta.
